Iowa Breeders Awards

Iowa Breeders Awards & the NEW Iowa Breeders Supplement are paid by the Iowa Department of Agriculture. Per Iowa Code 99.D22, the breeders awards must be paid by December 31st of each year.

I have spoke with Jill Paxton, Bureau Chief, and the breeders awards for 1st place have been sent to their accounting department, but was not able to tell me when they will be mailed.

The new Breeders Supplement Awards for 2nd - 4th place will be sent out in a seperate check. The new software to handle this new award will be in place around Dec. 15th and hopefully checks will be sent soon after.

Equine Piroplasmosis Testing Requirements 2012 Prairie Meadows

Effective March 1, 2012 all Quarter horses entering the stable area located at Prairie Meadows racetrack will be required to have proof of a negative test for Theileria Equi.  The test must have been performed within the past 365 days and include the tattoo number of the horse or an accurate description.  A copy of the original test is acceptable.

This requirement is for all Quarter horses entering Prairie Meadows racetrack and includes ALL pony horses regardless of breed.

Elite Squadron & Five Star Day will be added tomorrow. We are still able to add stallions if you would like to donate. If you have a farm that you work with and would like to see their stallion in our auction, please have them contact me or visit HERE for a donation form and more information.

General Membership Meeting

Make plans to join us for our General Membership Meeting this Saturday, December 10th at 4 pm in Salons 2 & 3 in Ballroom C at Prairie Meadows.

We will be taking nominations from the floor for our for our election. We have 5 Directors' seats up and the Vice-President seat. If you are interested in running, please have a bio ready that can be sent with the ballots.
